Donegal’s Geraldine McLaughlin finally gets her All-Star

Donegal gaelic footballer Geraldine McLaughlin won an TG4 LGFA senior football All-Star award for 2021 on Saturday night.

It’s her first All-Star gong, despite having been nominated on five occasions in previous years.

The gifted Termon foward was Donegal’s leading scorer during the 2021 season.

Her scoring average of 9.9 points per game was the highest during her 12-year intercounty career.

McLaughlin’s sister Nicole and their Termon and Donegal team-mate Evelyn McGiinley were also nominated.

All-Ireland champions Meath collected eight All-Star awards – with forward Vicki Wall also being named as Football of the Year.

IT Sligo graduate Rachel Kearns is Mayo’s sole recipient at centre half-forward.
