A prisoner who absconded from Loughan House open prison in Co. Cavan in October has been found and arrested by Gardaí.
The Independent reports that double murder suspect, 53 year old John Mangan from Whitestown Green in Blanchardstown, Dublin 15, was located in Dublin on Tuesday.
An extensive operation was carried out by Gardaí after he failed to stop while on a bicycle in the Citywest area of Dublin.
Gardaí initiated a containment operation which involved members of the the Air Support Unit and the Armed Support Unit.
This operation ended a short time later in the Castleknock area with no injuries where he was arrested and taken to Blanchardstown Garda Station.
He has since been transferred back into the custody of the Irish Prison Service.
