Reports that the British Government could trigger Article 16 of the Northern Ireland Protocol has been described as an ‘unbelievable turn of events’.
Border Communities Against Brexit spokesperson, Damian McGenity, says activating the article will lead to serious repercussions for people living in the north west and border counties.
He says the protocol is a compromise and while not perfect, it is working to make sure there is no hard border on the island of Ireland.
Speaking to OceanFM News, Damian McGenity says the protocol in fact highlights the ‘failures’ of Brexit.
