The meeting which took place this week between the Sligo Pyrite Action Group and the housing minister Darragh O’ Brien has been described ‘as extremely positive’.
Sligo Leitrim Independent TD Marian Harkin took part in discussion where the Sligo Pyrite Action Group were seeking to be included on the redress currently being offered to those in counties such as Donegal and Mayo.
It also emerged from the meeting that those impacted by the condition in Sligo should not have their homes tested at this stage.
The group were also looking for 100% redress.
Deputy Harkin says early progress has been made.
