North west has the lowest number of penalty point drivers



The north west region has the lowest proportion of drivers with penalty points in the country.

10.5% of all Donegal drivers have at least one point on their license which is the lowest compared to any other county.

Leitrim has the second lowest nationally at 11.4% and Sligo is the third lowest with a rate of 11.5%.

20,648 drivers across all three counties have at least 1 penalty point out of a national total of just over 540,000.

Wicklow and Wexford are the counties with the highest rates in Ireland at a rate of almost 17%.
