Kilcar beaten by Naomh Conaill again

Kilcar’s 2021 Donegal senior football championship challenge ended at the semi-final stage on Sunday when they were beaten by holders Naomh Conaill by 0-11 to 0-8 at O’Donnell Park in Letterkenny.

There was a controversial finish to the game when a Kilcar goal in added time was disallowed by referee for a square ball.

Tempers frayed briefly after the final whistle but there was no doubting Naomh Conaill’s superiority on the day.

There was little to choose between the teams in the opening half with the sides level at 0-4 each at the interval.

But in the second-half Naomh Conaill edged in front and managed to keep their opponents at arms length up until that disallowed goal at the end.

Martin Regan’s side are now set to face St Eunan’s in the county final on Sunday, November 7th.

The match will throw-in at 3:15pm – and will be televised live by TG4.
