Workplace dignity: Sligo solicitor says Law Society will do everything to support its members



Half of female solicitors have experienced sexual harassment at some point in their careers.

A new Law Society survey, shows one in eight male solicitors had also suffered the same abuse.

However, 91% are not taking the matters further due to the profile or status of their abuser.

The Law Society says the findings are ‘troubling’ and require a ‘collective call to action’ to eliminate such behaviour.

Sligo-based solicitor Michele O Boyle is the immediate past president of the Law Society of Ireland.

She was also a member of the Law Society’s Gender Equality Diversity and Inclusion Task Force.

She told Ocean FM News the Law Society will do everything it can to support its members when it comes to dealing with issues raised in the Dignity Matters Report.
