Push on to get €200,000 for Ballisodare, Collooney and Ballymote

There are renewed calls for three key towns in County Sligo to be given the €200,000 they are each seeking under the Rural Regeneration and Development Fund.

Two of the towns, Collooney and Ballisodare, are satellites of Sligo town while Ballymote plays a key role serving a larger rural population in the south of the county.

Fine Gael Councillor Thomas Walsh said Collooney had been unsuccessful in its application last year but he hopes there will now be all-round support to ensure the success of all three towns when the allocations are decided early next year.
