MacSharry: ‘We cannot wait another 30 years for major road projects’



A Sligo/Leitrim TD says Sligo cannot wait another 30 years, risking more lives, for other ‘critical road projects’ in the region.

Fianna Fail’s Marc MacSharry is making the comments ahead of an Taoiseach, Micheal Martin, officially opening the €140m N4 Dual Carriageway today.

Deputy MacSharry praised the of the N4 Action Group for their efforts over the decades highlighting the need to upgrade the 15km stretch of road that has claimed the lives of over 30 people.

He says other roads, such as the N17, N15 and N16 need adequate funding to make them safer.
