Harkin welcomes inclusion of Sligo bridge in budget

A Sligo/Leitrim TD is welcoming provision in the budget for the proposed new bridge across the Garavogue River on the east of Sligo town, one of seven such projects in the country that were listed in the budget expenditure document.

Independent Deputy Marian Harkin says the new bridge will ‘open up access to this part of Sligo’, as well as improving access to services at Sligo University Hospital.

She also says that in conjunction with the Cranmore Regeneration Scheme, the construction of the bridge will help revival and renewal of the local area.
