Tánaiste says the old problems haven’t gone away

The Tanaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Leo Varadkar, says the various demonstrations staged yesterday, including the one by those affected by the mica scandal, shows the Government that the old problems have not gone away.

Mr Varadkar said he feels it was good that people can once again come out to demonstrate, and insists the Government will proceed with the enhanced Mica Scheme as outlined.

The Tanaiste said the development of the Digital Gaming Hub in Strandhill was in keeping with the designation of Sligo as a regional growth centre, as outlined in the 2018 National Development Plan.
