Council plan to purchase land to move Drumlonagher bottle bank

The long-running effort to relocate the bottle bank at Drumlonagher in Donegal Town to another location may at last be coming to an end.

Independent Councillor Tom Conaghan says the council is now hoping to purchase land to enable the removal of the bottle bank from Drumlonagher.

Cllr Conaghan has repeatedly pointed out that the current site, near the health centre, is not fit for purpose, pointing to the poor condition of the surface which has been damaged by heavy vehicles using the area to park.

He had previously called for a timeframe for the removal of the bottle bank.

However, he says the council is now making moves to deal with the issue.
