A Status Yellow Weather Warning’s in effect for Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal from now until Saturday morning.
Prolonged rain is being predicted by Met Eireann for today and Friday with significant build up on higher ground expected.
The forecaster also say there is a risk of localised flooding in parts of the region.
The alert is in place until 3am Saturday.
