Sligo IFA chairperson urging good attendance at Roscommon protest this Friday

Sligo IFA chairperson Kathleen Henry is calling for a good turnout at tomorrow’s IFA rally in Roscommon town, starting at 12.30.

It is one of four such rallies being held across the country under the title “Save Irish Farming”.

IFA President Tim Cullinane will attend all four rallies in Cavan, Roscommon, Portlaoise and Cork City, claiming that the Government “is pursuing policies that will decimate Ireland’s largest indigenous sector”.

European parliament memberLuke Ming Flanagan had called on the IFA to call off tomorrow’s rallies, as they coincide with the pyrite and mica demonstration taking place in Dublin.

The Roscommon-based MEP said the issue affects many farmer’s houses and farm buildings also.

But Kathleen Henry says it’s important as many people as possible show up in Roscommon tomorrow.
