It could be 2022 before people in the region sit their driving test

The Road Safety Authority are estimating that it will be early 2022 before people across the region will be able to sit their driving test if they book now.

That’s according to the RSA’s own online tool for estimating how long a person can expect to wait.

The 24th of January 2022 for the test centre in Carrick on Shannon, Co. Leitrim, the 14th of March for Sligo and the 11th of April for Donegal Town are the earliest dates available across the region.

The RSA website notes that these estimates are subject to change and people may be seen before or after the given dates.

However, Sligo based driving instructor, Andrew Murray, believes the dates given are conservative.

He says there are a number of factors for the long waiting lists.
