Homeowners in Sligo impacted by pyrite encouraged to attend protest

A Sligo Councillor is urging those impacted by pyrite to ‘make their voices heard’ at a protest in Dublin on Friday organised by mica campaigners.

Independent Ballymote/Tubbercurry Councillor, Michael Clarke, claims there are 384 homes impacted by pyrite in Co. Sligo according to latest estimates.

The mica protest calling for 100% redress is taking place at The Garden of Remembrance at 12pm.

Councillor Clarke believes some homeowners are embarrassed about coming forward with issues and is encouraging anyone impacted to make it known as he says it is ‘no fault of their own.’.
