IT Sligo questions graduate salary study



The Careers Officer for IT Sligo has questioned the validity of a recent study, carried out by the Higher Education Authority, which names graduates from IT Sligo and Letterkenny IT as having the lowest average earnings compared to other graduates.

Trinity College Dublin, University of Limerick and UCD graduates have the highest average earnings, with the study showing a gap of over €200 in average weekly earnings between IT Sligo graduates and those top colleges within four years of graduation.

According to the study, this earnings gap that opens up among graduates across colleges will widen over time.

As mentioned above, four years after graduating there is a salary gap of €200 between the bottom and top colleges. After eight years this salary gap will rise to €400.
