Latest 14 day incidence rate of Covid-19



There has been a decrease in the 14 day incidence rate of Covid-19 per 100,000 population in Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal.

Leitrim and Donegal however remain above the national average.

Information gathered between the 2nd and 8th of September shows the national rate has decreased from 494 to 442 with 21,047 new cases recorded in this time.

Sligo now has the 3rd lowest rate in the country at 383, down from 458.

While Leitrim and Donegal are above the national rate, they have both decreased with Leitrim on 683, down from 708 and Donegal has gone from 1,148 to 977.

The 14 day rate in local electoral areas remain varied.

As of Monday last, the figure in South Donegal was 812.

Manorhamilton in Co. Leitrim had a rate of 1,118.

The 14 day incidence rate of Covid-19 per 100,000 population is 356 in Sligo/Drumcliffe, 360 in Sligo/Strandhill and 513 in the Ballymote/Tubbercurry local electoral area.

A total of 491 new cases of the virus were recorded across all local Electoral Areas in this time with the majority, 215, documented in South Donegal.
