39 patients with Covid in NW’s hospitals



There are 39 patients with Covid-19 in the north west’s two main hospitals today.

Latest figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation also show 53 patients waiting for a bed in the region.

Sligo University Hospital has the thrid highest number of Covid-19 patients in the country with 26; only behind Beaumont with 30 and Cork University Hospital with 34 patients.

A further 13 people are in Letterkenny University Hospital with the virus according to the latest HSE figures.

One person is in the Intensive Care Unit in both Sligo and Letterkenny University Hospitals.

While no ICU beds are available in Sligo, there are two available in Letterkenny.

A total of 335 Covid patients are in Irish hospitals today, a drop of 49 compared to Monday’s figure of 384.

Figures from the INMO also show 27 people are waiting for a bed in Letterkenny University Hospital and 26 in Sligo University Hospital.

413 patients are waiting across the country today; it’s the highest since the pandemic bean for a second day in a row.

University Hospital Limerick having the most patients waiting nationally at 69.
