Worst day for hospital overcrowding since pandemic began



The Irish nurses and Midwives Organisation says today is the worst since the pandemic began for hospital overcrowding.

56 patients are waiting on trolleys or chairs in Sligo and Letterkenny University Hospitals today.

29 are Sligo; 22 in the emergency department and 7 elsewhere in the hospital.

A further 27 patients are waiting for a bed in Letterkenny; 6 in the emergency department and 21 elsewhere.

A total of 395 patients are waiting around the country today
