Donegal Co Final replay postponed

Donegal GAA has confirmed that next Wednesday’s 2020 Donegal SFC final replay between Naomh Conaill and Kilcar has been postponed following Saturday’s Ulster Council hearing.

Naomh Conaill appealed against the county board’s decision last week to order a replay of the 2020 decider, following Kilcar’s successful objection to the result of the original match a few weeks ago, which Naomh Conaill won after extra-time and penalites.

Kilcar claimed that their opponents had used too many substitutes during extra-time,  a claim which was proven.

However, the Naomh Conaill’s appeal on Saturday to Ulster GAA was successful.

The hearing determined that a rule was infringed relating to video footage and the process must re-start.

Naomh Conaill’s objection  will now been re-heard by Donegal’s Central Competitions Control Committee (CCCC), under a differently constituted committee.

The 2021 Donegal senior club football championship is still scheduled to begin next weekend (Sept 11th/12th).
