Switcher.ie finds Sligo the best place to work from home

A new study has found Sligo to be the best place in Ireland in which to work from home.

The Yeats County emerged in the top spot in the Switcher.ie remote working index, which looked at towns and cities across the country.

Switcher.ie is a website which compares prices and costs for a range of services, including gas, electricity, broadband, phone and TV.

The research by Switcher.ie on the best places to work from home looked at a range factors, including average property prices, access to 5G broadband, local crime rates and the number of coffee shops and local restaurants.

It also considered GP access, food delivery services and local schools.

Switcher.ie says that with cheap housing and access to good schools and GPs, Sligo was ‘perfect’ if education, health and saving money were top priorities.

Skerries in County Dublin was the safest place to work from home, Galway was the best place for food lovers, and Longford, Ballina, Cavan and Letterkenny had the lowest house prices.

Ballina came in third place overall in the survey while Galway was also found to have great access to super fast 5G.

Sligo was not tops under every heading — but taking all into consideration, it emerged as the overall Number One place to work from home, especially for people with families.
