Johnny Kenny called into Ireland U19 squad

Sligo Rovers Johnny Kenny (Jnr) has been called into the Republic of Ireland under-19 squad by manager Tom Mohan for a training camp next week.

The 18-year-old has been included in a 27-man training camp which will take place at  Loughborough University in the UK.

The week-long camp begins on Sunday and includes two behind-closed-door games on Tuesday and Friday.

Kenny is one of six League of Ireland players named in the training squad.

Kian Corbally, Reece Webb, Ben McCormack  (all St. Patrick’s Athletic), Evan Caffrey (UCD) and  Jamie Mullins (Bohemians) are the others.

The six will be released back to their clubs mid-week so that they can play in their club’s league matches next Friday and Saturday.

Rovers are away to Drogheda United next Friday night (Sept 3rd) in the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division and Kenny will be available for this fixture.

The Drogheda-Rovers game will be broadcast live across the Ocean FM Sport platforms next Friday.
