Bonner wants to stay on as Donegal manager

Declan Bonner has indicated his willingness to stay on as Donegal senior football manager for the 2022 season.

He presented his report to the county committee at Wednesday night’s virtual County Board meeting.

Donegal’s interest in this year’s All-Ireland championship ended at the semi-final stage, when they were beaten by eventual Ulster champions Tyrone.

The Na Rossa clubman has just completed his fourth year in the banisteoir’s bib – and won two Ulster SFC titles during that time.

This is his second stint as county senior manager – he previously managed Donegal from 1997 to 2000.

Donegal GAA confirmed later on Wednesday that the senior manager’s position remains open for other candidates to apply.

Clubs have been given until Sunday (Aug 29th) at 5pm to advise the County Executive about any nominee they wish to propose.
