A rally will take place in Sligo today which will call on the government to end all deportations to Afghanistan.
Today’s event which is being hosted by United Against Racism Sligo will take place outside of Sligo City Hall and will get under way at 1 p.m.
The event will also highlight the concern for the LGBTQ community in Afghanistan.
Peadar Hopkins is a representative for the ‘United Against Racism Sligo’ He’s been telling Ocean FM News that they are hopeful of highlighting a number of issues during today’s rally.
