Sligo Councillor slams treatment of local Airport

Sligo Airport continues to be ‘left in limbo’ by the Department of Transport and Irish Coastguard.

That’s according to Sligo Fine Gael Councillor and Director of Sligo Airport, Thomas Walsh who says there has been a ‘shocking level of disrespect’ shown.

In October 2020, infrastructure projects were required to adhere to regulatory requirements at a cost of €200,000 to the airport with €80,000 still required to complete Phase 2 of works.

Councillor Walsh says numerous attempts have been made for reimbursement but no response has been received to date.
