Public consultation on Ballyshannon plan extended to Sept. 1st

The public consultation period for the Ballyshannon Regeneration Strategy and Action Plan has been extended until September 1st.

The announcement was made today by Donegal County Council’s regeneration and development team in conjunction with GM Design Associates.

The Draft Regeneration Strategy and Action Plan for Ballyshannon will now remain on public display until Wednesday 1st September — and members of the public are invited to have their say.

The Cathaoirleach of the Donegal Municipal District, Cllr Barry Sweeney, said it’s an opportunity to identify key priorities and regeneration opportunities for Ballyshannon town centre up to 2040 and beyond.

Cllr Sweeney urged the community to engage with the consultation process over the coming weeks.

The Draft Regeneration Strategy & Action Plan has been prepared by GM Design Associates and builds
on what people said during consultation in January and February of this year.

Liam Ward, Director of Community Development and Planning Services, said, the Draft Regeneration Strategy & Action Plan will provide a roadmap of the projects and actions for the future development of the town centre.

He said it will also support future applications for funding across the public, private and community sectors.
