50 hospital patients in NW waiting for beds



Sligo and Letterkenny university hospitals have the second and third highest number of patients in the country waiting for beds today.

26 are waiting in Sligo, with 19 in the emergency department and 7 in wards and elsewhere.

The figure for Letterkenny University Hospital is 24, with 5 in the emergency department and 19 elsewhere in the hospital.

University Hospital Limerick is the most overcrowded today, with 31 patients waiting for a bed.

Overall, in hospitals throughout the country today, 254 patients are waiting for a bed.
