An Explosive Ordnance Disposal team was tasked to Co. Sligo this week to remove an explosive device.
Just before 2pm on Tueday last, Gardaí were notified of a business owner in Rosses Point coming into possession of an old mortar device as part of a memorabilia collection.
The bomb disposal team were notified to verify if it was safe.
The explosive device was deemed to not pose a risk but was removed by the team as a precautionary measure.
