Councillor calls on local authority to repair flood damage in Ballinaglera

Leitrim County Council is being called on to investigate what has been described as ‘very serious damage caused during a freak cloudburst’ around the village of Ballinaglera.

Flash floods resulted in parts of roads swept away, a home was cut off when the road leading to it was ripped apart, and a business was flooded as a result of the sudden downpour — all having occurred in a short space of time last Monday afternoon.

Leitrim Fine Gael Councillor Enda McGloin is asking the council to do everything possible to restore the damaged roads and to help homeowners where access routes are cut off.
