Sligo Councillor believes pyrite impacted homeowners need to form action group

A Sligo Councillor says homeowners in the county impacted by pyrite need to set up a working group similar to mica groups in Donegal and Mayo.

Sinn Feinn’s Thomas Healy says he understands there are around 200 houses in the county impacted by pyrite and there could be more as it can take years for defects to appear.

He fears Sligo will be left out of any budgetary decision when it comes to redress schemes in the coming budget and says his party colleagues in the Dail will be raising the issue when they return.

Councillor Healy believes impacted householders need to come together as a group.
