Road users throughout north west asked to be mindful of horses and riders

Road users are asked to be mindful of horse riders and their animals when out and about.

A new report by the Road Safety Authority has found 4 out of 5 horse riders experience issues on Irish roads.

Ursula Schweiger O’Connor, of Island View Riding Stables in Grange, Co. Sligo, is asking people to be
patient if coming across a horse and its rider as there are a number of things that can spook the animal.

Speaking to OceanFM News, she outlines what people should do when meeting a horse and indeed, any animal, on the road.
