Online abuse of hospitality sector must be stopped

A Sligo restauranteur is urging the Government to come up with legislation that will punish those found guilty of co-ordinating or engaging in the practice of booking tables in restaurants and then not showing up.

Anthony Gray is a former President of the Restaurants Association of Ireland he says action must also be taken against those partaking in online abuse campaigns against those in the Hospitality sector

It’s being claimed that some people opposed to the use of vaccine certs for indoor dining are making fake bookings so businesses lose out revenue.

Anthony Gray runs the Hooked and Eala Bhan restaurants in Sligo he says there are those engaged in this practice targeting restaurants in the North West.
