Department of Housing recommendations on Mica offers little comfort

A Sligo Independent Councillor is expressing concern this morning over recent reports claiming that the Department of Housing are recommending to the Government not to agree to a 100% redress scheme for homes impacted by Mica.

It’s also being speculated that the county of Sligo where there are thought to be over 350 houses effected by the condition has not yet been included in any such redress scheme.

Ballymote Tubbercurry independent Councillor Michael Clarke says although this is not a Government recommendation it’s nonetheless far from ideal for those whose houses have been damaged or destroyed by the Mica or Pyrite conditions.
