Reports government will not support 100% redress for those impacted by mica

It’s being reported that the government will not support 100% redress for those impacted by mica.

The Business Post says the state has told affected homeowners it does not support full compensation for thousands of homes damaged in the likes of Donegal, Sligo and Mayo.

It comes as a number of homeowners quit a working group chaired by the Department of Housing in protest at the lack of progress.

While a two month delay has been granted to the working group’s report into compensation for homeowners by the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage.

It was supposed to be presented this Saturday the 31st of July but has now been extended until the 30th of September.
