Heatwave is over, thundery downpours expected over the coming days



‘Heavy, thundery downpours’ are forecast across Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal over the coming days, according to Met Eireann.

An advisory is in place until 5am Tuesday, with the forecaster warning of downpours which will lead to dangerous road conditions and spot flooding.

The north west could experience thundery downpours and possibly spot flooding on Wednesday.

Speaking to OceanFM News, Meteorologist with Met Eireann, Andrew Doran-Sherlock says the region will experience much wetter conditions compared to last week.
