Increase in reports of jellyfish at Sligo beaches; what to do if stung



People are advised to be wary of jellyfish if heading to beaches around the region.

Water Safety Development Officer with Sligo County Council, Pete Murtagh, says they have received increased reports recently of the marine animal being spotted at all beaches in Sligo and along the west coast.

The recent high temperatures are expected to begin dipping from today with Met Eireann predicting rain next week.

This has led to an increase in the number of people heading to the seaside.

Speaking to OceanFM News, Pete gave this advice on what to do if you get a jellyfish sting.
