43 patients waiting for a bed in north west hospitals



There are 23 patients waiting for a bed in Sligo University Hospital today making it the 3rd most overcrowded in the country.

14 are waiting in the Emergency Department and a further 9 elsewhere in the hospital according to the latest Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation’s Trolley Watch figures.

The numbers are also high in Letterkenny University Hospital with 20 patients waiting; 5 in the Emergency Department and 15 elsewhere.

The two worst hit today is University Hospital Limerick and University Hospital Cork where 31 people are being forced to wait for a bed.

241 people in total are waiting in Irish Hospitals for a bed today.
