A Leitrim Councillor is calling for a Biodiversity Officer to be appointed in Leitrim.
Councillor Justin Warnock says that with the Government acknowledging that Ireland is in a biodiversity crisis and with the National Biodiversity Action Plan due to expire this year and a new plan to be published.
At this week’s meeting of the local Authority in Leitrim the Fianna Fáil Councillor urged the Council to employ a full time Biodiversity Officer to deliver the key objectives which will be contained in a new five year plan.
