In the north west’s two main hospitals today, there are 44 patients waiting for a bed.
23 are in Letterkenny University Hospital and 21 in Sligo University Hospital.
Overall throughout the country today, there are 343 patients waiting for beds, according to figures from Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation.
