€18,000 for River Bonet study

There are now hopes that a new start can be made on solving the long-running issue of the flooding of the River Bonet in north Leitrim.

The river rises north of Manorhamilton at Glenade Lake and flows past Dromahair into Lough Gill.

The Minister with responsibility for the Office of Public Works, Patrick O Donovan, has now announced funding of €18,000 for a study that’s expected to determine the root cause of the flooding.

Sligo/Leitrim TD and Minister of State at the Department of Health Frank Feighan says he’s confident they will now get to the bottom of the flooding problem on the river.
