Faianna Fáil Councillor to be next Leitrim Cathaoirleach



Leitrim Fianna Fáil Councillors Paddy O’ Rourke from the Ballinamore Municipal District will be elected as the new Cathaoirleach of Leitrim County Council today.

 

The Council AGM will take place at 12.30.

 

It’s expected that fellow Fianna Fáil Councillor, Paddy Farrell who is based close to Leitrim village and was elected in the last local elections in the Carrick-on-Shannon Municipal District will be the new Leas Cathaoirleach of the local authority.

Fianna Fáil is also expected to have a Councillor elected as the Ballinamore Cathaoirleach on Monday.

 

Cllr. Caillian Ellis is being widely tipped to take over the role with the Drumshanbo based Fine Gael Councillor Enda McGloin expected to be elected as Leas Cathaoirleach of the Ballinamore MD.
