31 patients in hospitals waiting for beds



More than 30 patients in the north west’s two main hospitals are waiting for beds today.

Twenty of them are in Sligo University Hospital, of which 12 are in the emergency department and eight in wards and elsewhere.

In Letterkenny University Hospital, there are 10 patients in wards and elsewhere waiting for a bed, with one waiting in the emergency department.

Overall throughout the country today, there are 235 people in hospitals waiting for beds, according to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation.
