Cyber attack: HSE systems still affected

The HSE North West says that while good progress has been made in restoring some of its systems in the aftermath of the recent cyber-attack, some services continue to be disrupted.

Although essential services are continuing, many HSE systems are not functioning as usual and patients may continue to experience delays and, in some cases, cancellations.

Among the services that continue to be affected are Medical card applications.

At present, it’s not possible to register medical card applications online; people are asked to send in postal applications instead.

While emergency cards are being processed as quickly as possible, applications for non- emergency cards have been impacted. For information, Call 1890 252 919 (9am – 5pm Monday to Friday) for medical card queries.

In relation to the vaccination programme, vaccine registration opened for people aged 35-39 on Sunday.

Testing continues across CHO Area 1 that covers Cavan, Donegal, Leitrim, Monaghan and
Sligo.

People do not need an appointment or a referral to get a free COVID-19 test at a HSE COVID-19 test centre. People may book online or go to a test centre during opening hours for walk-in’s.

Full details of testing centres are available at hse.ie
