Donegal ladies reach Ulster final

Donegal women’s gaelic footballers recovered from a shaky start to record a comprehensive 6-16 to 2-17 win over Cavan in Saturday evening’s Ulster senior football championship semi-final at Kingspan Breffni.

Maxi Curran’s found themselves trailing the Breffni girls by 1-5 0-1 after just 10 minutes of play.

But they eventually found their stride and their scoring touch, with Geraldine McLaughlin (pictured) contributing 2-9 of Donegal’s total.

Donegal now await the winners of the Armagh-Tyrone semi-final.

The Orchard women enjoyed a 2-18 to 0-10 win over Monaghan in Saturday’s quarter-final.

The Ulster championship is a stand-alone competition this year – and is totally separate to this summer’s All-Ireland series, the group stages for which begin in July.
