Shaws jewellers in Sligo town to close

A business of more than 30 years in Sligo town is to close at the end of this month.

It’s Albert Shaw jewellers on O’Connell Street.

Albert and Rene opened the shop in 1986 but following the death of two family members in recent times Alan and his mother have decided to close after 35 years.

Speaking to Ocean FM, Alan says the death of his father and brother and the onset of Covid made him think about what is important in life and he will now pursue a new career.

He says the decision to close was a difficult one.
