Donegal Golf Club hosts All-Ireland finals

This is a big week for Donegal Golf Club in Murvagh as it hosts the delayed 2020 AIG All-Ireland Cups and Shields finals.

It’s one of the flagship events in club golf and takes place over three days of competition (Wed, June 9th – Fri, June 11th).

The event was postponed or deferred several times over the past 12 months because of the pandemic.

But it finally got the green light to go ahead this week.

Clubs from all four provinces will compete for the All-Ireland senior and junior cups, and the Jimmy Bruen and Pierce Purcell Shields.

Liam Cassidy, Donegal Golf Club Captain, and Seamus Faulkner (Secretary) chatted with Austin O’Callaghan about what staging this prestigious event means for the club.
