Bleak future painted for rural Post Offices



The future of many post offices in the north west has been cast into fresh doubt.

Postmasters say there’ll be ‘unrestrained closures’ of Post Offices in July, if the Government doesn’t act urgently.

The Irish Postmasters’ Union is calling on the state to give them a financial injection within weeks or the Network will collapse.

It’ll hold crisis meetings in June to discuss all options, including a ballot on a work stoppage.
