Gardaí in Sligo are continuing their investigations this morning into a serious assault which took place yesterday afternoon, at approximately 2.20p.m at Garavogue Villas in the town.
One man believed to be in his 40’s was assaulted and taken to Sligo University Hospital with serious injuries.
A man in his 20’s was arrested a short distance away and was taken to Ballymote Garda station where he is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
Gardaí have confirmed to Ocean FM news this morning that Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
