Minister Harris meets Oireachtas members to discuss new technological university

It’s hoped the west and north west of Ireland will have its own technological university by January next year.

It follows a meeting today between all Oireachtas members from the region with the Minister for Higher Education, Simon Harris.

It’s now up to an international panel to adjudicate on the application from the Connacht Ulster Alliance for a technological university.

Among those who attended today’s meeting with Minister Harris was Fianna Fail’s Higher Education spokesman Deputy Marc MacSharry.

He spoke afterwards to Ocean FM News.
